Outstanding performance, thrilling luxury, and a confident style define the BMW M8 Competition Coupé, BMW M8 Competition Cabriolet, and BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupé. BMW M will refine the profile of its high-performance sports vehicles in the luxury market in spring 2022 with targeted design changes and improved function.

Design and functionality upgrades

With upgrades to the choice of exterior colors and M alloy wheels, the latest edition of the BMW M8, which is offered in three body configurations, is especially popular.

The M lights Shadow Line, offered for the first time for these premium high-performance sports vehicles, offers additional options for customizing the look. Fresh interior impulses are provided by full leather Merino/Alcantara in the new Black/Sakhir Orange color version. Furthermore, the BMW iDrive operating system’s 12.3-inch touch display improves operational comfort.

Racing inspired performance

The BMW M8 Competition Coupé, BMW M8 Competition Cabriolet, and BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupé together represent the pinnacle of BMW M’s model line, which has a significant presence in the premium category.

2022 BMW M8 Competition family: performance and luxury in an exciting new packageThe three top models each reflect a distinctive manifestation of M of usual performance in the highly competitive arena of luxury sports vehicles, thanks to their distinct body ideas.

The drive and chassis technology, which is developed for a profoundly passionate driving experience, is their most common trait. A V8 engine with M TwinPower Turbo technology provides remarkable performance, with a maximum output of 460 kW/625 horsepower and a maximum torque of 750 Nm.

The engine delivers strong driving torque over a broad load range due to its traditional M high-speed nature, which is perfectly put on the road through an 8-speed M Steptronic gearbox with Drivelogic and the M xDrive all-wheel-drive system.

Their excellent synchronization allows for thrilling aggressive driving maneuvers like accelerating from a standstill to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds (BMW M8 Competition Coupé and BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupé) or 3.3 seconds (BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupé) (BMW M8 Competition Cabriolet).

BMW M Automobile‘s typical balance of dynamism, agility, and accuracy in driving behavior is guaranteed in any scenario thanks to chassis technology developed with racing know-how and customized to each model. The BMW M8 GTE racing car’s development expertise was also put to good use.

Powerful highlights and a new color palette define the design of the 2022 BMW M8 Competition

The unmistakable appearance of the BMW M8 Competition Coupé, BMW M8 Competition Cabriolet, and BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupé is defined by powerful shapes, generous, elegant surfaces, aerodynamically optimized lines, and M-specific design features geared to the functional requirements of a high-performance sports car.

2022 BMW M8 Competition family: performance and luxury in an exciting new packageNew exterior colors emphasize the exterior’s clean surface design even further. For the first time, the body painting software has been updated to accommodate eight new options for the three models.

Skyscraper grey metallic, Brooklyn grey metallic, and Isle of Man green metallic are among the new exterior colors, as is BMW Individual lacquer tanzanite blue metallic. In addition, four new types of especially high-quality Frozen treatments are offered, which with their silk-matt surfaces effectively accentuate the BMW M8 models’ current design language.

Frozen Pure Grey metallic, Frozen Deep Grey metallic, Frozen Deep Green metallic, and Frozen Tanzanite Blue metallic are also available as BMW Individual special finishes.

As standard, the BMW Laser Light with adaptive cornering light and glare-free main beam assistance BMW Selective Beam delivers optimal visibility in a variety of weather and driving scenarios. They are now available as M lights Shadow Line for the latest generation of high-performance sports vehicles as an option.

The dark inlays and chrome accents within the headlights, together with the usual high-gloss black frame of the BMW kidney, give the car a particularly stunning and dynamic appearance upfront.

More fun with the M Dynamic Mode

Electronically controlled shock absorbers and an electromechanical M Servotronic steering system, as well as an integrated braking system that allows the display of two-pedal characteristics, are all part of the new BMW M8 models’ chassis technology. This gives the rider the option of choosing between a comfortable and a sporty-direct pedal sensation.

An optional M Carbon ceramic brake is offered as an alternative to the regular M Compound braking system.

The driver may select the M Dynamic Mode of the DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) driving stability system, which allows for more wheel slip. Particularly dynamic driving maneuvers, such as controlled drifts, may be experienced when the M xDrive’s rear-wheel-drive architecture is combined.

2022 BMW M8 Competition family: performance and luxury in an exciting new package20-inch M light-alloy wheels with high-performance 275/35 R 20 front and 285/35 R 20 rear tires are also included as standard equipment. As special equipment, several M light-alloy wheels in the same format are available, including a new star-spoke design and a bicolor black/grey version.

Racing DNA disguised by a luxurious interior

The new BMW M8 vehicles’ interiors mix a traditional M cockpit design with contemporary elegance. M-specific displays are available on the regular BMW Head-Up Display. The Setup button on the center console gives you quick access to the engine, damper, steering, M xDrive, and braking system settings.

The desired settings for the drive sound, shifting characteristic, driving stability control, and the Auto Start-Stop function may be permanently kept in two forms of the personally customized M Setup. Then press one of the two M buttons on the steering wheel to get to them.

The M Mode button in the center console may also be used to operate the driver assistance systems, as well as the instrument cluster and head-up display displays. You may choose between ROAD, SPORT, and TRACK modes.

The standard M sports seats further complement the high-performance sports car’s intense driving experience. The optional M Carbon bucket seats provide the driver and passenger with a genuine racing sensation.

They combine racing practicality with long-distance comfort and elegant craftsmanship thanks to their structure-based design, visible carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) surfaces, integrated headrests, apertures in the backrests and side cheeks, and guidance for multi-point seat belts.

A full-leather Merino/Alcantara trim comes standard on the new BMW M8 variants, in addition to the M Sports seats and M Carbon bucket seats. For the first time, it’s now available in the color combination Black/Sakhir Orange.

In addition, in all variants of this equipment, the black Alcantara proportions have been extended to the instrument panel and the top sections of the door sills.

Connectivity and assistance

BMW M8 Competition Coupé, BMW M8 Competition Cabriolet, and BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupé all come standard with the BMW Live Cockpit Professional. It features a control display that has been increased in size from 10.25 to 12.3 inches. The huge onboard monitor’s touch feature enables for very quick, comfortable, and intuitive manipulation of multiple vehicle functions.

BMW Maps, an online navigation system, and the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant are included with the BMW Live Cockpit Professional. The standard equipment, which includes the Driving Aid, Parking Assistant with reversing assistant, telephony with wireless charging, and the Harman Kardon Surround Sound System, emphasizes the new BMW M8 models’ exclusivity.
