The 2024 Chevrolet Trax is a new, technologically advanced option for those wanting the utility of an SUV and the convenience of a small car. The most recent Chevy model was unveiled in October 2022.

Attractive price and 5 variants
It offers greater passenger and cargo room than the Trax of today and more standard and readily accessible content. Customers will be kept linked by various technologies and a wide range of essential safety measures. The Chevy Trax price is expected to start at $21,495.
“The all-new Chevy Trax has everything you need and nothing you don’t. More space. More features. More style. This is an entry-level vehicle that will surprise and delight customers with its value and plays a critical role as the gateway into the Chevy brand,” said Scott Bell, vice president of Chevrolet.
Design and content options are provided by five unique variants: LS, 1RS, LT, 2RS, and ACTIV. All trims also have improved features and technology, such as:
- Chevy Safety Assist with six advanced safety and driver awareness technologies
- Larger infotainment screens — a standard 8-inch-diagonal system and an 11-inch-diagonal screen on LT, 2RS, and ACTIV trims
- Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability
- LED headlamps
- 17-inch, 18-inch, or 19-inch wheels
- Four-wheel disc brakes
- Active Noise Cancellation
Push-button start, automated temperature control, wireless phone charging, and other new amenities are available on most Chevrolet Trax models. All models come equipped with cruise control, and Trax is the first to provide adaptive cruise control on select trims.
A 1.2L turbocharged inline-three engine, estimated by GM to produce 137 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque, powers the new Chevy Trax. A tried-and-true six-speed automatic gearbox is paired with it. Excellent on-demand power is a result of the turbo, especially for passing maneuvers and on-ramp acceleration.
Stylish construction for the Chevrolet Trax
“The bold exterior and tech-forward interior design of the all-new Trax redefines what an entry-level vehicle can be. It demonstrates that modern, stylish design doesn’t have to come at a premium,” said Phil Zak, executive design director, Global Chevrolet.
The 2024 Trax has a sporty, muscular look modeled off the Chevrolet Blazer and is longer, lower, and broader than the present generation.
Sleek horizontal lines at the front accentuate the car’s breadth and are created around the lines of the Chevy bowtie in the grille’s center. These lines then flow outward to the headlights, which are thin and have a Blazer-inspired design with brand-new LED lighting components. The Trax is more visible day or night thanks to Chevy’s trademark high-eye LED daytime running lights.
A 4-inch (101 mm) shorter overall height than the present model enhances a more svelte side profile, and powerful “shoulders” in the body add to a taut, muscular appearance and solid stance.
Depending on the model, each trim features distinctive design cues, such as different grille designs, wheels, and décor.
17-inch steel wheels are standard on the Chevy Trax LS, while 17-inch machined aluminum wheels are standard on the LT. Both the LS and LT have simple, uncomplicated designs, with extra bright trim on the LT.
The sportiest Trax design is available on RS models, which also include extra external trim elements and a distinctive grille with an RS emblem incorporated into it. Unique 18-inch machine-faced aluminum wheels come standard on the 1RS trim, while 19-inch machine-faced aluminum wheels come standard on the 2RS trim.
The new ACTIV sports a monochrome design with titanium chrome highlights and a rear skid plate theme that looks intimidating. Additionally, it has distinctive 18-inch black wheels.
Space and technology – the keywords for the inside
With a roughly 6-inch longer wheelbase and a wider track than the outgoing model, the new Trax’s greater size benefits the driving experience and interior roominess. It also improves handling and ride quality.
In terms of interior space and luggage capacity, the new model is 11 inches longer and 2 inches wider than the outgoing model. This results in 3 inches more rear legroom, which improves comfort for passengers in the backseat, and a maximum load capacity increase of over 12%.
The longer, lower, and broader platform of the Chevrolet Trax made it possible to design the cabin with sweeping lines and light, technological elements that accentuate the vehicle’s breadth and give it an airy atmosphere.
The low instrument panel improves outward visibility and adds to the airy impression while providing depth with a technological texture pattern that sweeps across. Other components, including the recognizable round vents and others, are inspired by other contemporary Chevy performance car designs.
The infotainment panel is canted slightly toward the driver for more intuitive operation, and displays in general make up the bulk of the futuristic design. While the LT, 2RS, and ACTIV trims have an 11-inch-diagonal infotainment color touchscreen and an 8-inch-diagonal driver information center, the LS and 1RS trims have an 8-inch-diagonal infotainment color touchscreen.
Customers may wirelessly link Apple CarPlay or Android Auto for the first time on the Chevy Trax, and wireless phone charging is now an option on the LT, 2RS, and ACTIV. Trax still has Wi-Fi Hotspot functionality.
Superior safety and assistance features
The 2024 Trax raises the bar in terms of safety and driver awareness technology with the new, standard Chevy Safety Assist, a collection of six cutting-edge systems that include:
- Automatic Emergency Braking
- Front Pedestrian Braking
- Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning
- Forward Collision Alert
- IntelliBeam auto high-beam control
- Following Distance Indicator
Other options include rear park assist, lane change alert with side blind zone alert, and adaptive cruise control, with the rear vision camera being standard, as well.
In the spring of 2023, the brand-new 2024 Chevrolet Trax goes on sale.
