GMC Sierra Denali Ultimate and AT4X models are the first in the series to get aesthetic, interior, and technological changes, including trailering-capable Super Cruise driver-assistance technology and a new 13.4-inch-diagonal touchscreen screen. Luxury and off-road performance
The new 2022 GMC Sierra is the most sophisticated and luxurious Sierra yet, with all-new features including trailering-capable Super Cruise and new levels of luxury workmanship and capabilities.
The new Sierra Denali Ultimate trim, which is the most advanced and lavishly furnished Denali model ever as well as the most sophisticated and elegant pickup in its class, leads the range.
The first-ever Sierra AT4X joins the Denali Ultimate as the new pinnacle of premium off-road performance, with significant capability and uncompromising refinement.
The premiere GMC Sierra in Denali Ultimate trim
The Sierra Denali Ultimate trim is the most sophisticated and opulent pickup in its class, elevating the iconic Denali sub-brand to new heights of capability and luxury.
To set a new standard for premium truck buyers who want to reward themselves, unique exterior styling cues are combined with exclusive interior trim and features, as well as more standard equipment. This includes the segment-exclusive CarbonPro composite cargo box, which offers best-in-class short-bed cargo volume.
All this, in order to create a new standard for premium truck buyers who want to reward themselves.
The exterior of the Denali Ultimate is differentiated by a distinctive grille in special Vader chrome, exclusive 22-inch wheels in Low Gloss Black with machined elements, Vader chrome GMC logo, and unique front fender trim with Mount Denali.
GMC’s six-way MultiPro tailgate is also standard, as is the Denali Premium Suspension with segment-exclusive Adaptive Ride Control and power assist steps.
The Alpine Umber interior of the Denali Ultimate adds to the already opulent Denali cabin, with full-grain leather furnishings and open-pore Paldao wood trim. The wood’s darker finish gives a unique color combination, while the unusual graining adds a custom touch.
A variety of maps of Mount Denali’s summit, North America’s tallest peak, are embossed throughout the inside. These maps are laser-etched on the open-pore Paldao wood on the front passenger-side dashboard, full-grain leather on the front and back seats, rear seat and door panels, and external fender vent emblems.
The Sierra Denali Ultimate’s base engine is a GMC 6.2L V-8 with 420 horsepower and Electronic Precision Shift. It’s paired with a 10-speed automatic gearbox. Four-wheel drive is standard, as is an electronically controlled two-speed transfer case.
Assistance systems galore
Super Cruise is included on Sierra Denali Ultimate and optional on Sierra Denali with a three-year subscription to access the functionality. It is the first real hands-free driver-assistance system on compatible roads in the industry, and it can be utilized on more than 200,000 miles (320,000 kilometers) of compatible highways in the United States and Canada.
Sierra’s class-leading lineup of trailering assistance technologies now includes Super Cruise, as well as up to 14 possible camera views, Transparent Trailer, GCW Alert, an in-vehicle trailering app, and more.
When the maximum weight the Sierra can safely transport is surpassed, the new GCW Alert will sound an alarm, indicating that the vehicle may be overloaded.
Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert, which accounts for the length of the trailer while changing lanes, and updates to Adaptive Cruise Control to allow usage when trailering, are among the enhanced safety and driver-assistance features available in the 2022 Sierra.
Forward Collision Alert, Automated Emergency Braking, Front Pedestrian Braking, Lane Change Alert with Side Blind Zone Alert, Following Distance Indicator, and IntelliBeam automatic high lights are all standard on the GMC Pro Safety.
Extreme off-roading with the GMC Sierra AT4X
GMC intensifies its attempts to break ground in the premium truck segment with the all-new Sierra AT4X. The Sierra AT4X is a well-balanced truck that provides enhanced off-road performance when needed without sacrificing the on-road comfort, technology, towing, and payload capacity that premium pickups are known for.
AT4X highlights include springs that, when combined with the Multimatic dampers, improve maximum front and rear suspension travel by 50 mm and 25 mm, respectively, over the basic AT4 suspension. Additionally, the two-speed transfer case has selectable off-road settings, including Terrain Mode, which permits one-pedal rock crawling.
E-locking differentials in the front and rear are a feature not seen in any other rival in its class, and a rocker guard accessory is available for more ruggedness.
The off-road capabilities are balanced with comfort and convenience thanks to an AT4X Obsidian Rush interior with a distinctive, luxury-focused design. Premium leather details abound throughout the interior, including full-grain leather-wrapped and technical grain leather accents, all of which are finished with white piping and red stitching.
Authentic dark Vanta ash wood trim, best-in-class 16-way power-adjustable and massaging front seats, a premium microsuede headliner, a 15-inch-diagonal Head-Up Display, power sliding rear window, power sunroof, a 12-speaker Bose Premium Series audio system with Center Point technology, and more can be found inside.
The payload capacity of the AT4X is 1,420 pounds, while the trailering capacity is 8,900 pounds.
