Kia Corporation has released comprehensive photographs of the exterior and interior design of the Kia EV9, the company’s first three-row electric flagship SUV, which combines aggressive style with exquisite elegance on the inside and out. The Kia EV9 is a significant step forward in the company’s goal to become a supplier of sustainable mobility solutions.
The EV9’s powerful and assertive aesthetic presence is inspired by Kia’s ‘Opposites Unified’ design concept, which leverages the creative tension produced by nature’s and modernity’s conflicting principles to achieve a harmonious whole. Kia’s designers have created a stunningly modern but sweetly tranquil SUV by fusing a unique blend of sleek, sculptural contours and confident, aggressive geometry.

External design: laying the groundwork for future electric SUV design
Kia’s designers seek to produce cars with unmatched aesthetic appeal, guided by the brand’s ‘Opposites Unified’ design concept. The ideology’s pillar of ‘Bold for Nature,’ which stimulates the mixing of components from the natural and material worlds, has played a vital role in shaping the external design of the EV9.
As a consequence, the vehicle seamlessly mixes an undeniable air of robust competence for all situations with the tranquil serenity of a smart EV, paving new routes for future electric SUV design.
The EV9’s front is defined by simple, clean lines and body surfaces that radiate confidence, clarity, and tranquillity in equal measure. The EV9’s iconic ‘Digital Tiger Face,’ accented by the ‘Digital Pattern Lighting Grille’ and dramatic vertical headlights, imparts a visionary and future aspect and feel. Inside the bodywork of the Digital Tiger Face, there are two clusters of miniature cube lights next to each headlight.
The groundbreaking EV9’s ‘Star Map LED daytime running lights (DRL)’ produce a complex dynamic lighting pattern that will designate Kia’s Digital Tiger Face for the brand’s future EV cars.
The side profile of the EV9, formed from a polygonal design language, elegantly blends a strong and unmistakable SUV character with remarkable aerodynamic efficiency. Dynamic triangular fender constructions and very noticeable geometric wheel arches mix with the fuselage body to provide a unified structure with a determined appearance.
A tapering rear roofline and flush door knobs provide an impression of smooth and efficient mobility.
The EV9’s powerful and confident attitude is further emphasized by the tailgate’s basic, clean lines, which are delicately finished by the narrow rear lights that mimic the design of those on the front.
Interior design is the creation of new forms of space, comfort, and enjoyment for all residents.
The ‘Technology for Life’ pillar of Kia’s ‘Opposites Unified’ design philosophy assures that only technology and innovation that encourage pleasant, intuitive interactions between people and machines are produced, therefore realizing new mobility possibilities. These values were crucial in the design of the inside of the EV9.
These have allowed Kia’s designers to emphasize room, comfort, and technology for all passengers, completely redefining what a family SUV can provide.
The EV9’s long wheelbase, low beltline, and entirely flat electric vehicle design, built on Kia’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), have enabled the development of abundant space for all passengers to interact and relax with lounge-style comfort in all three rows of seats.
Kia gathered input from families to analyze seating combinations and features to guarantee the EV9 provides equality of space, comfort, and pleasure for all passengers without focusing just on the driver.
While the EV9 is charging, passengers in the first and second rows may recline their seats at the same time to relax and rest. The seats in the second row may be easily swiveled 180 degrees to allow passengers to engage with those in the third row. Cup holders and charging ports for mobile devices are also available in the third-row seats.
Excellent user experience for the driver and passengers
The EV9 has an attractively simple, high-quality, incredibly user-friendly design throughout the roomy, bright, airy interior. The open, floating panoramic dashboard stretches from the steering wheel to the center of the car.
Two 12.3-inch touch displays combined with a 5-inch segment display enhance the digital experience by allowing for easy operation of the vehicle’s functions while keeping physical buttons to a minimum.
The center console has plenty of storage space, including a large compartment at the bottom. The center console doors are also meant to contribute to the interior space’s overall elegance.
The high-definition audio-visual, navigation and telematics (AVNT) screen on the EV9 delivers a rich and engaging experience. It improves occupants’ capacity to fluidly engage and interact with the digital environment. An array of concealed type touch buttons underneath the AVNT screen offers a start/stop function as well as AVNT and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) control.
