The Porsche Macan T is the latest addition to the German brand’s already exciting model lineup. This is the first four-door sports vehicle to get the special designation, which was previously reserved for the Porsche 911 and 718 models.

Touring is all about the driving experience
Since the 1960s, the letter T has stood for a distinct kind of dynamic driving at Porsche. It stands for ‘Touring,’ and it denotes cars that, owing to precision tuning, specialized equipment, and efficient engines, provide an extremely realistic driving experience.
The new Macan T, inspired by the Porsche 911 T from 1968, has a highly dynamic setup and a lightweight two-litre turbo engine, as well as an athletic look and a long list of standard amenities that are suited for a sporty driving style. The Macan T is positioned between the Macan and the Macan S in this idea.
Enhanced agility and performance
The Macan T’s two-litre, four-cylinder turbo engine combines high agility, low weight, and a compact design to produce a vehicle with an optimum weight-to-performance ratio. The powertrain in the Macan T is 58.8 kg lighter on the front axle than the 2.9-litre biturbo V6 engine in the Macan S. This provides the car with great acceleration and cornering abilities.
The Macan T boasts a power output of 195 kW (265 PS) and torque of 400 Nm, which are ideal for the vehicle’s precise design and provide an exciting drive. The engine is paired with a fast-switching seven-speed dual clutch gearbox (PDK) and the Porsche Traction Management (PTM) all-wheel drive system, as is typical of small SUVs.
In all driving scenarios, a wide range of torque offers rapid acceleration. The Macan T goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds and achieves a high speed of 232 km/h when equipped with the standard Sport Chrono Package, which includes the mode switch and Sport Response button on the steering wheel.
More rigid and lower stance for better handling
The Macan T is the only Porsche vehicle with standard steel suspension and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), as well as a 15-mm lower body. The front anti-roll bars have been stiffened, and the car’s chassis calibration has been tweaked to achieve the ideal suspension for the vehicle and powerplant, resulting in very sensitive steering and quick handling.
The Porsche Traction Management (PTM) system has also been tailored to the Macan T’s driving characteristics, with a rear-wheel bias. It’s also possible to upgrade to adaptive air suspension with PASM and lower the body by another 10 mm, which is a new feature for Macan models with four-cylinder engines.
It’s also possible to install Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), which has been tailored to the T model’s dynamic characteristics and sharpens the driving dynamics even further.
Special Porsche Macan T design elements inside and outside
The Macan T is distinguished from other versions in the series by design components painted in Agate Grey Metallic on the front, flank, and rear. On the painted front trim, external mirrors, side blades, roof spoiler, and rear emblems, the special contrast color can be noticed.
Standard features include black (high gloss) sports tailpipes and side window trims, as well as a black ‘Macan T’ emblem on the side blades. Standard on the Macan T are twenty-inch dark titanium Macan S wheels. For the exterior, customers have a choice of 13 simple, metallic, and unique colors.
The Macan T’s interior has its own unique atmosphere. The eight-way electrically adjustable heated sports seats come with unique Black leather upholstery as standard. The Sport-Tex Stripe pattern is applied to the center of the front seats and the outside rear seats, and the front headrests are embossed with the Porsche crest.
Inside the car, ornate silver stitching on the upholstery, headrests, and steering wheel maintains the contrast color from the outside.
A multifunction GT heated sports steering wheel and the Sport Chrono stopwatch in the upper portion of the dashboard are also standard. The basic door entry guards are made of black aluminum and feature a Macan T logo. The multifunction GT sports steering wheel in Race-Tex with carbon trimmings and an ioniser are available as options.
All of the new features of the model generation that will be revised in summer 2021 will be available on the Macan T, including the new centre console with its sophisticated glass-look and touch-sensitive surface, as well as the fully networked Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system with a 10.9-inch touch screen and standard online navigation.
The updated model is now available for purchase. In April 2022, deliveries will begin in Germany.
